Excerpts From New Book About Tom Petty

I'm real excited about this new book coming out in the Fall... it's a book of new interviews with Tom Petty covering a whole range of subjects, but primarily focusing on his songwriting. Those who know me know of my borderline obsession with Tom Petty over the years so this will be a real treat. Check out this link to read some excepts, including how he came to work with George Harrison and how the great song 'Refugee' was created:

The Real World - Austin

The ridiculous but (sort of) true story of seven horny hardbodies, picked to live in a free house, and have their sex lives taped. Watch what happens when young people stop being real and start being really dramatic.

I remember watching the Real World when I was too young too be a member of the cast. It's still on, but now I'm a bit too old and way too unattractive! Where do they find these people? Are there that many people out there with flawless bodies and no inhibitions whatsoever? Within the first ten minutes of tonight's season premiere the cast was in a hot tub and two of the girls were making out. A minute later all of them were in a shower. Then they decided to go out and get drunk, presumably to loosen up a bit.

This is the 16th season of this show! Man, am I old.

My Review: Batman Begins

Growing up, Batman was always my favorite superhero character. He was just so darn unique! He managed to become mainstream, despite his darkness. Plus, he was the only superhero without superpowers. And remarkably, the newest film is as unique as it’s protagonist. How? Well, for starters, Batman Begins is one of the few surefire Hollywood blockbusters that are actually really good movies. And it’s a prequel, for crying out loud! How many other prequels are good? I can think of none. (Think: Dumb and Dumberer) But Batman Begins is fun, thrilling, and huge, without sacrificing acting, dialogue, or direction. Christian Bale takes his place among the all time greats to wear the cowl, and Katie Holmes’ performance is almost good enough to make you forget about this nonsense with Tom Cruise. Bottom line: I left the theatre feeling that my time and money were well spent. I can only hope for as much with next year's Superman Returns. Grade: A

Jacko is a Whacko

Can someone tell me why it's taken so long for the jury to return a verdict? To me, these statements are confessions:

Jackson said: "I have slept in a bed with many children, I slept in a bed with all of them when Macaulay Culkin was little, Kieran Culkin would sleep on this side, Macaulay Culkin was on this side, his sisters in there.
"It's very right. It's very loving."

"Why can't you share your bed? That's the most loving thing to do, to share your
bed with someone," he said.

Anyone else who uttered this line after being accused of molestation would have been locked up a long time ago.

Negative statements about the kid's parents are completely irrelevant. Any parent who allows their kids to sleep over a 45 yr. old man's house is a bad parent. A completely separate issue. Lock MJ up and decide another time if the kid has unfit parents.
